In a remarkable display of compassion and collective giving, members of the Jimi Benson iCare Foundation on Monday, marked the birthday of their founder and the representative of Ikorodu Federal Constituency, Rep. Babajimi Adegoke Benson, by organising a life-impacting “Clear the Bills” outreach for patients in Ikorodu Federal Constituency.
The initiative, fully funded through personal contributions from members of the iCare Foundation, was designed to celebrate the lawmaker in a meaningful way while extending support to vulnerable individuals in critical need of assistance. The outreach focused on settling hospital bills for patients who have already been declared medically fit for discharge but remained held back due to the inability to offset their medical expenses.

The two teams of iCare members visited two General Hospitals (GHs) – Ikorodu and Imota. The outreach focused on settling hospital bills for patients who were already declared medically fit for discharge but remained held back due to the inability to offset their medical expenses.
The teams visited the Male, Female, Children, and Post-natal wards, ensuring that patients from different categories benefited from the gesture. The bills cleared ranged from as high as ₦300,000 to as low as ₦50,000, reflecting a deliberate effort by the iCare Foundation members to touch as many lives as possible within available resources.

At General Hospital, Ikorodu, beneficiaries of the outreach included Sulaimon Kayode, Blessing Ivern Francis, Shukurat Yetunde Balogun, Diamond Chizitere Eleweke, Modupe Juliet Augustine, Emmanuel Edidiong Udeme, Agnes Bamidele, and Taiwo Segun. Similarly, at General Hospital Imota, the intervention brought relief to Kazeem Baby, Ganiu Raheem, Ibrahim Fatimoh, Tina Adelaja, Amoda Gbajumo, Rebecca Awolesi, Kazeem Mutiat, Omeh Christian, Dare Obabidemi and John Onyinyechi.
For the beneficiaries, the gesture came as a moment of unexpected relief, transforming what had been a prolonged and uncertain hospital stay into an opportunity to return home and reunite with their families.

iCare Foundation’s coordinators, explained that the outreach was intentionally chosen as a birthday tribute to their founder, whose leadership and long-standing commitment to humanitarian service have continued to inspire a culture of giving within the foundation.
According to them, rather than celebrate with fanfare, they resolved to honour Rep. Babajimi Benson by impacting lives directly – a decision they described as a reflection of the values he represents.
They noted that the initiative also aligns with the core objectives of the foundation, which include providing support for vulnerable individuals, particularly in areas that directly affect human dignity, such as healthcare.

At the hospitals, the outreach was met with heartfelt appreciation from beneficiaries, their families, and healthcare workers, many of whom commended the iCare Foundation members for their generosity and selflessness.
As Rep. Babajimi Benson marks his birthday, this unique celebration by members of the iCare Foundation stands as a testament to the enduring impact of his influence – one that continues to inspire compassion, service, and meaningful change across Ikorodu Federal Constituency.
